Our rafting guides all have a thorough knowledge of on Vancouver Island's natural and cultural history. They are happy to share their experiences with you during your river rafting tour. Our guide training philosophy ensures that you will have a fun and memorable British Columbia river rafting trip.

Master Guide & Trip Leader Jim is the operations manager and started his river guiding career in 1984. Jim is a Master Instructor for swiftwater safety courses and a fish & wildlife technician with 12 years experience managing BC provincial parks. He was the Provincial Rafting Regulations Officer prior to starting Destiny River Adventures. Jim is the Executive Director of the BC River Outfitters Association and the International Rescue Instructors Authority, as well as a director on the BC Wilderness Tourism Association Board. |

Master Guide & Trip Leader Jamie is the river manager and started his river guiding career with Destiny River in 2000. He is a SAR team leader, rope rescue leader and instructor for swiftwater safety courses. Jamie is also a certified red seal chef and will look after your appetite on our multi-day expeditions! |

General Manager Darlene has been with Destiny River part-time since it all started. She has worked in a variety of tourism operations and has returned as the full time general manager (but you may still find her driving the bus and loading rafts....). |

Guide Jake obtained his certification in 2007 after a few part-time seasons as a G.I.T. (Guide in Training) with Destiny River. Jake is a qualified diver and enjoys all aspects of being on, in and under the water. Jake completed his first year at BCIT and is off to avionics training at BCIT again this fall.

Guide Brandon had his first rafting trip when he was 3 years old. He has been actively working with Destiny since 2000 running gear boats and support services until he was certified as a guide in 2004. Brandon has a BSc in Mechatronics Engineering from UW and is heading back to work on his Masters this fall. |

Guide Scott completed his guide training with Kumsheen Adventures in Lytton. He is guiding part-time for us this season. He plans to travel in the off-season and raft more rivers around the world. |

Guide Ken trained as a new guide with Destiny River starting in 2003 and was certified in 2005. He is currently in university and guiding part-time with our crew. This former downhill ski racer likes hiking and climbing in addition to his river activities when he is not at UBC. |
Master Guide & Trip Leader John has been guiding since almost all the rest of the crew were babies. He is a avid kayaker and comes out to play on the river with us for guest appearances as our witty and sarcastic elder stateman. |

Driver Dean joined Destiny as our main bus driver in 2008. Dean has recently moved to the area and really enjoys the fun crews we get on our rafting tours. Ask him how the swimming is at the Nimpkish take-out.... |

Driver Al joined Destiny as a back-up driver in 2008. He recently retired from full-time coach line driving. He is an avid English football fan - ask him about his team. |

Office and Operations Support Alicia provides office and operations support for the entire crew. From taking reservations to washing gear she picks up the slack and ensures that it all runs smoothly. Security Rio works for food and enjoys hanging out with the crew at the rafting centre! |
