Raft & Snorkel with the Salmon
– August to October each year

We once again had record returns of salmon in 2010 in the Campbell River with great viewing opportunities. Half a million pinks in 2010 and almost 900,000 in 2009 bode well for continued healthy runs on our river. This tour was recommended by American Way magazine last July as one of the four top marine wildlife viewing tours in the world for their guests.

We regularly host media on this tour and recently had the NBC World of Adventure Sports program on the river.

Check out the video here for a Vancouver Island A Channel report on this crew and their filming in Campbell River.

Come on out and check out the salmon – the Chinook are in early this year!

Green Tourism Canada - Silver Certification

Following a pilot project funded by the BC Government last year, Green Tourism Canada introduced a national certification program which will help the tourism industry better understand how to reduce their impact and to operate more sustainably.

Destiny River Adventures achieved a Silver Certification under the program, one of only 26 businesses in Canada to become certified so far.

The Green Tourism Canada program is owned by UK-based Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS), the largest and most established third-party certification program of its type in the world. With over 13 years experience delivering sustainable tourism certification programs and having conducted over 6000 assessments, today GTBS has over 2300 GTBS certified operators in the UK. Designed for all types of tourism and hospitality businesses, including accommodation providers, visitor attractions, activity providers, and restaurants, Green Tourism Canada conducts on-site business assessments, providing the industry with third-party certification aligned with international standards (ISO14001) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria.

The Green Tourism brand is a well known and a respected standard and provides consumers with a clear and credible signpost to sustainable tourism products and services. Check out http://www.green-business.co.uk/Canada/index.asp
