Myth: River Rafting is roughing it

Busted: Rafts have virtually unlimited capacity, which means almost all the comforts of home, yes, including the kitchen sink, come along on multi-day trips. There are chairs to sit on, stoves to cook on, roomy tents and tons of fresh food. And don’t be surprised to see a few bottles of wine, perfectly paired to the meal, at dinner.

Fast Facts:

While the United States was opened up by covered wagon, Canada, and B.C. in particular, was opened up by river. Big rivers like the Columbia and Fraser and small ones like the Kicking Horse and Nimpkish were the highways for First Nations people, European explorers and traders and later loggers and miners. Almost every river has a historic story to tell.

Newsletter - December 2010

Merry Christmas & thanks for the great 2010 season!

The staff at Destiny River Adventures would like to wish you and yours all the best of the season. We hope that you have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year and look forward to seeing you again on the river!

We want to wish our guide Kaitlyn all the best working in Australia for 2011 and look forward to her return in 2012. Jake has returned from BCIT and will be out on the river when not at his day job. Thanks to Jamie for his hard work in 2010 and we look forward to his continued increased role in managing Destiny. We also have a few new drivers to work with Dean as a result of our Olympic contract (Glenn, Doug, and Steve). This will also allow for additional bus charters in and out of rafting season.

Stuck for Christmas Ideas? Purchase a gift certificate from Destiny River Adventures and save the HST!

Raft & Snorkel with the Salmon Tours – July 20 to SepT 30

We once again had record returns of salmon in 2010 in the Campbell River with great viewing opportunities. Half a million pinks in 2010 and almost 900,000 in 2009 bode well for continued big runs on our river. This tour was recommended by American Way Magazine in July as one of the four top marine wildlife viewing tours in the world for their guests.

Whitewater Season

With the La Nina forecasted for this winter we expect a big snowpack again – which will mean another excellent whitewater season for 2011. We will be offering tours again at the Puntledge River Paddlefest May 28 & 29 and Nimpkish tours from May 1 to the end of July!

Destiny River Rafting Adventures - exhilarating river rafting trips on North Vancouver Island and West Coast British Columbia, Canada. Exciting whitewater rafting adventures and family rafting tours for all ages. Half Day, Full Day, 3 & 4 Day wilderness rafting adventures on the Campbell River, Oyster River, Nimpkish River and Southgate River.
