"What makes a river so restful to people is that it doesn’t have any doubt – it is sure to get where it is going, and it doesn’t want to go anywhere else."
Hal Boyle
There are few wildlife spectacles more inspiring than the annual return of Pacific salmon to the rivers of western Canada. And there’s no better way to witness the spectacle than on the Campbell River aboard one of Destiny River Adventures’ rafts. Thousands of fish pass right next to your seat and the more adventurous can grab a snorkel and mask and jump right in the river and swim with the fish. It’s one of the most unique rafting trips offered in the province, but it’s just one of several trips Destiny runs from it’s Campbell River base.
For a mellow half day on the river, the Oyster and Campbell rivers are perfect for half day floats along a scenic river. During the spring and summer, full day trips on the Nimpkish River, a traditional First Nation trading route and hunting ground, is the company’s destination. The upper river has epic whitewater in a wilderness setting, while the lower river runs at a slower pace and is perfect for those that don’t want to get as wet. An even more exciting option is the Southgate River, a helicopter access tour deep in the Coast Mountains. Expect to see towering peaks, old growth rainforest and lots of wildlife on these unforgettable three and four day trips. In fact, wildlife - bears, elk, eagles, salmon and more - is commonly seen on every Destiny trip.
With professional guides, west coast hospitality, uninhabited rivers, and interesting and unique trips it’s no surprise that more than 60 percent of guests come back for more.
For everyone who has rafted with us in the past we are offering a special for trips that are booked in June (even if booking for July or August). All youth and young adults from 5 to 18 years old raft free with each full fare accompanying adult. This offer is only available for repeat rafters that book during June, 2009 and cannot be combined with any other discounts.
